Building Estimator

AST Stone is a comprehensive construction company with over 23 years of experience in the industry. We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret project drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to ensure accurate pricing.
  • Produce detailed shop drawings and complete a thorough quantity take-off of all labor, equipment, and materials required for the project.
  • Prepare cost proposals and final tender documents for submission to clients, meeting contract deadline requirements.
  • Develop estimates for bids and RFPs, and maintain tendering processes and cost monitoring systems.
  • Attend pre-tender site meetings and assist in the coordination of projects and preparation of construction schedules.
  • Maintain files and records of work, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to manage multiple tenders concurrently.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills, with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a multi-discipline team environment.
  • Responsible attitude and leadership qualities, with self-motivation and strong negotiation skills.
  • At least 3 years of experience in residential construction estimating.
  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Certificate.
  • Proficiency in the bidding process and experience with AutoCAD, MS Office, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience and exposure to project management procedures.
  • Driver's license.
