About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at Skyluxe Roofing and Sheet Metal. As a key member of our estimating team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates of labour and material costs for our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate Costs and Materials: Prepare estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects, taking into account factors such as materials, labour, and equipment costs.
  • Prepare Pre-Qualification Submissions: Prepare pre-qualification submissions to present to clients, highlighting our company's capabilities and qualifications.
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements and ensure accurate estimates.
  • Provide Economic Feasibility Studies: Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects, including analysis of costs and potential returns.
  • Project Cash Flow and Financing: Analyze project cash flow and financing requirements, ensuring that our company's financial resources are allocated effectively.
  • Estimate Reports and Bids: Prepare and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bids forms, ensuring that all necessary information is included.
  • Tendering Procedures: Advise on tendering procedures, ensuring that our company's bids are competitive and compliant with industry standards.
  • Contract Expenditures: Monitor and adjust contract expenditures, ensuring that our company's financial resources are allocated effectively.
  • Supply and Trade Contractors: Prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors, ensuring that our company has access to the necessary resources.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP degree in a relevant field, such as construction management or engineering.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field.
  • Language: English language proficiency.
  • Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
