Job Title: Early Career Environmental Scientist/Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Early Career Environmental Scientist/Engineer to join our team at SLR Consulting (Canada). As a key member of our environmental services team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality projects and contributing to the growth and success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in all facets of environmental or contaminated site projects, including Phase I and II ESAs, remediation programs, and long-term environmental monitoring of sites.
  • Coordinate and execute field programs, including sampling and monitoring of soil, groundwater, soil vapour, sediment, surface water, and remediation system operation and maintenance.
  • Conduct analyses, interpretations, and conclusions with support and mentorship from senior technical experts.
  • Prepare a variety of environmental reports, including field notes and environmental summary reports.
  • Support project managers with planning, reporting, and tracking schedules and budget, as part of project financial management.
  • Collaborate with other technical disciplines and participate in technically varied and multi-disciplinary projects.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a degree or technical diploma in environmental science, engineering, geology, hydrogeology, or environmental related studies.
  • Previous experience in contaminated site assessment and remediation programs preferred (previous co-op or internship experience considered).
  • Knowledge and practical application of health & safety requirements unique to oil and gas facilities, construction sites, subsurface investigations, and contaminated sites preferred.
  • Ability to work well independently or in small teams, including ability to work alone in remote locations and adapt to conditions/resources.
  • Valid driver's license required for travel to job sites/clients.
