Job Description

We are seeking an Early Career Environmental Scientist/Engineer to join our team at SLR Consulting (Canada).

As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in contaminated site assessment and remediation field programs. Your responsibilities will include project coordination, field sampling, and reporting, as well as conducting field programs involving sampling and monitoring of soil, groundwater, soil vapour, sediment, surface water, and remediation system operation and maintenance.

You will work closely with senior team members to prepare health and safety plans, coordinate and execute field programs, and supervise subcontractors. Your analytical skills will be essential in conducting analyses, interpretations, and conclusions with support and mentorship from senior technical experts.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will also support project managers with the planning, reporting, and tracking schedules and budget, all as part of project financial management.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require a minimum of a degree or a technical diploma in environmental science, engineering, geology, hydrogeology, or environmental related studies. Previous experience in contaminated site assessment and remediation programs is preferred, as is exposure to fieldwork including sample collection and handling. Knowledge and practical application of health & safety requirements unique to oil and gas facilities, construction sites, subsurface investigations, and contaminated sites is also an asset.
