About the Role:

As an Employee Relations Specialist at goeasy Ltd., you will play a critical role in shaping the company's culture and ensuring a positive work environment for all employees. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality consultation to management on strategies and approaches to manage complex employee issues.
  • Conduct employee investigations and professionally document findings and recommendations for review by Senior Leadership.
  • Oversee and support management team with performance management activity, including performance issues, progressive discipline, and termination.
  • Support the execution of ongoing HR initiatives, such as the annual performance review process and employee engagement events.
  • Manage employee leave of absences, return to work plans, and accommodation requests.
  • Actively support HR projects and continuous improvement of HR practices.
  • Coordinate with management team on Health & Safety matters, including workplace injury situations.
  • Assist employees and management with the interpretation of Company policies and respond to inquiries and concerns.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and guidance to management to enhance their people management capability.
  • Maintain current knowledge of and ensure compliance with provincial employment laws.
  • Partner with other teams within human resources to leverage employee relations insights to enhance training programs, onboarding, talent acquisition, rewards, and culture.

Requirements:

  • University/college degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years' Employee Relations or HR Generalist experience.
  • Strong knowledge of provincial Employment Standards legislation, Human Rights, Health and Safety legislation, and other applicable employment law.
  • Broad experience in policy and legislation interpretation, customer service, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, sound judgment, and sensitivity in dealing with employee situations.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills and attention to detail to manage work, competing deadlines, and sensitive projects.
  • Experience in dealing with various levels of stakeholders across the company.
  • Advanced computer skills, and knowledge and expertise in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems is preferred.
