Job Overview

The Operations Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting the success of our special events and accessibility initiatives. This includes coordinating and executing events such as Pride Day, Family Day, Relaxed Performances, and staff/volunteer events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and execute special events, including setup, logistics, and post-event reporting.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key accessibility event partners.
  • Communicate with the Box Office and Development teams to coordinate and provide onsite support for private events, group bookings, and special patron activations.
  • Provide special event training and supervision of volunteer event hosts and servers scheduled for special events.
  • Manage retail inventory and stock for special events and perform end-of-shift processes and invoicing when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Operations team to maintain patron-facing areas and coordinate the setup and strike of our event spaces.

Requirements:

  • A passion for working with the arts community and creating welcoming and inclusive spaces for all.
  • Experience in events coordination, preferably in live events.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain organized and adaptable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • An interest in the theatre and the arts, and a desire to learn more about working in arts administration.
  • Ability to lift approximately 30-40lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Serving It Right certification required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, familiarity with Microsoft Teams preferred.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems, databases, or point of sales systems an asset.

Work Environment:

The primary work location is at the BMO Theatre Centre in Olympic Village, with some events taking place at our Festival site in Sen̓ákw/Vanier Park. Evening and weekend availability is required.
