Job Title: Front End Department Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Front End Department Manager to join our team at Loblaw Companies Ltd - Head Office. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the front-end operations of our stores, ensuring exceptional customer service and a seamless shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of cashiers and customer service representatives to ensure excellent customer service and a high level of productivity.
  • Oversee the efficient running of the cash office, including cash handling, deposits, and cash losses.
  • Analyze reports to identify problems and determine appropriate solutions to improve store performance.
  • Ensure price integrity by assisting in time file data management, price changes, and scan log procedures.
  • Perform store administration functions, including weekly accounting, invoice payment and reconciliation, bank statements, and GL inquiries.
  • Process payroll to ensure employees are paid accurately and on-time.
  • Manage potential loss through buggy management, test orders, refund/override minimization, and other initiatives.
  • Coordinate cashier activities on a daily basis, act as a resource for cashiers, and provide input into the performance management process.
Requirements:
  • Open availability and flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays according to the needs of the business.
  • Demonstrated commitment to superior customer service.
  • Strong technical knowledge of all front-end operations.
  • Problem-solving skills, including responding to customer complaints and inquiries.
  • Issue management skills, including time management, interpersonal skills, conflict management, information gathering skills, problem-solving, and team-building skills to develop collaborative working relationships.
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and active listening.
  • Retail management experience is an asset.
