Key Responsibilities

  • Communication and Negotiation
    • Negotiate agreements, purchase prices, and promotional calendars with suppliers.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
    • Monitor market prices and trends to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Product Development and Partnerships
    • Identify and develop new product opportunities based on market trends and customer demand.
    • Build and maintain relationships with new suppliers and partners.
  • Merchandising and Inventory Management
    • Develop and implement merchandising strategies to drive sales and revenue growth.
    • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Management and Performance Monitoring
    • Manage and develop a team of Junior Purchasers.
    • Monitor and evaluate team performance based on key performance indicators (KPIs).

Requirements

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in merchandising and purchasing, preferably in the food industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.

Assets

  • 3-5 years of experience in merchandising and purchasing.
  • 2-3 years of management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in commerce or a related field.
