About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Squires Gastro Pub. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of our menu items, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution
    • Develop and implement new menu items and specials, working closely with our chef de cuisine to ensure that they meet our high standards.
    • Plan and execute menu cycles, including ordering and inventory management.
  • Culinary Leadership
    • Supervise and mentor our culinary team, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are meeting our high standards.
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of our culinary team.
  • Food Safety and Quality Control
    • Ensure that all food safety and quality control procedures are followed, including proper handling and storage of ingredients and equipment.
    • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that our menu items meet our high standards.
  • Inventory Management
    • Manage inventory levels, including ordering and receiving supplies and ingredients.
    • Monitor and control food costs, working closely with our finance team to ensure that we are meeting our budget targets.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
    • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy loads.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position. The work environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, with a focus on providing excellent customer service and ensuring that our menu items meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
