Job Summary

The Campus Dining Hall and Catering Manager is a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for students, faculty, and staff at St. Thomas University. This position oversees the development and implementation of dining solutions, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 20+ FOH and BOH staff during meal service, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate food service activities to deliver a high-quality finished product to customers.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with customers, addressing any complaints or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct monthly food inventory and assist with staff scheduling to manage labor costs.
  • Oversee in-house catering services, from receiving orders to execution, ensuring seamless delivery and exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Schedule catered events, ensuring proper venue setup and staffing.
  • Delegate tasks to staff, ensuring effective execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for customers and employees, conducting daily safety huddles.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 2+ years in restaurant or hotel food and beverage management.
  • Post-secondary culinary or hospitality diploma preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to train and manage unionized staff and resolve problems.
  • Ability to maintain effective customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service using Aramark's standard service model.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends, with a varying shift schedule.
  • Knowledge of and ability to post culinary highlights on social media is a definite asset.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
