Our Vancouver Location
We are currently seeking an experienced Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at our Port Coquitlam location in British Columbia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading our health and safety initiatives, procedures, and policies for our plant and construction sites in BC.
What We Offer
This full-time position comes with a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including:

Main Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, advise, and support health and safety initiatives (policies, programs, procedures).
- Conduct weekly facility inspections with operations teams to ensure regulatory compliance and identify potential hazards.
- Prepare written reports on workplace inspections and evaluate the organization's work practices to reduce or eliminate hazards.
- Develop risk assessments on various machines and provide recommendations to operations.
- Lead incident investigations and provide support for all other incidents.
- Follow up on open action items, legislative requirements, and implement corrective actions.
- Assist in developing safe operating procedures and best practices.
- Manage compensation claims and support completion of Form 7's, and oversee return-to-work process.
- Ensure necessary processes are completed to prevent lost time injuries.
- Facilitate employee onboarding and monitor training compliance.
- Create and implement health and safety tracking processes.
- Support and monitor health and safety improvement objectives with operations to meet targeted deadlines.
- Facilitate hazard identification, analysis, and corrective action planning and implementation.
- Lead and support joint health and safety committees by monitoring committee activities and responding to information and learning needs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Professional diploma in health and safety;
- 2-4 years of experience as a health and safety advisor;
- Experience in manufacturing and/or construction industry;
- Ability to travel around GVA to construction fields;
- Strong communication and social skills;
- Prioritization of employee health and safety.
