About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in our Home Health services. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work closely with clients and their families to develop personalized care plans that promote independence, safety, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy services to referred clients through assessment, consultation, and interventions that promote functional independence and occupational performance;
  • Collaborate with clients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to formulate treatment goals and develop care plans;
  • Prescribe and recommend specialized and adaptive aids and equipment to enhance client mobility and independence;
  • Educate clients, families, and caregivers on independent living skills, occupational performance, and environmental adaptations;
  • Coordinate rehabilitative services with clients and other health service providers to ensure seamless care delivery;
  • Act as a client advocate by providing information and liaising with funding agencies and community resources;
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Current full registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC and eligibility for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists;
  • Two (2) years' recent, related clinical experience in a community or home health setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current developments in occupational therapy and community resources;
  • Able to organize and prioritize workload, problem-solve, and exercise judgment in professional practice;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively independently and in a team-based environment.
