Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Respiratory Therapist to join our team at McMaster Children's Hospital. This is a full-time night shift position in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

About the Role

As a Clinical Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to neonatal patients and their families. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide family-centered care, prioritizing evidence-based best practices and continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care in special care areas, including but not limited to, ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and airway clearance techniques
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Assist with patient safety and quality improvement initiatives, committee work, and research projects
  • Educate nurses, students, and other healthcare professionals on respiratory care principles and techniques
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy
  • Willingness to precept respiratory therapy clinical students
  • Experience in a Level 3 NICU within the last 2 years is preferred
  • Experience attending high-risk deliveries within the last 2 years is preferred

We offer a competitive salary range $83,000 - $109,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for professional development and growth.
