What is the Opportunity?

The Royal Bank of Canada's Enterprise Partnerships team is responsible for identifying, securing, and fostering deep relationships with partners that are mutually beneficial to the enterprise, our clients, and our partners. These high-value, strategic partnerships accelerate client value and engagement across the bank's products and lines of business, including its internationally recognized award-winning loyalty program, Avion Rewards.

In this role, you will be responsible for the development of strategic enterprise partnerships for the Royal Bank of Canada, developing mutually beneficial value to our collective clients and customers. This is a highly collaborative role working alongside business lines enterprise-wide (i.e. Cards, Loyalty, Personal and Commercial business lines) to bring the best of partnerships to enable business objectives. You will be responsible for actively communicating and engaging key stakeholders and executives to ensure alignment, engagement, and awareness of opportunities for partnership integration and growth. You will also support the team to develop a best-in-class partner experience and solidify the team and the Royal Bank of Canada's reputation as a market leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish strong relationships and cadences with key external partner contacts and internal product leads in business lines to proactively identify new opportunities to deepen and extend partnerships across business lines and the broader enterprise.
  • Support the Director, Senior Director, and Vice President, Enterprise Partnerships to ensure overall program alignment, growth, and successful outcomes.
  • Closing deals at the national and regional level in support of our unique value to our customers, while enhancing the business proposition of our channel, existing merchants, and newly acquired partnerships.
  • Work collaboratively with various internal stakeholders to ensure that every deal meets legal, quality, and privacy standards.
  • Deliver against internal business goals while prioritizing the customer experience of potential partners.
  • Work with executive leadership and core internal cross-functional business teams to develop a sound external-facing partner proposal that highlights the benefits of a partnership with the Royal Bank of Canada (Enterprise-wide or Loyalty Framework).
  • Support in the development and implementation of Partner Services practice management framework, including industry best practices and standards, guides, activities, and behaviors to ensure the Royal Bank of Canada is seen as the best-in-class organization to partner and work with, internally and externally.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in financial services, partnerships, and/or business strategy.
  • Consultative experience and a passion for developing business plans for large, multi-faceted partnerships.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytics skills.
  • Experience navigating Enterprise relationships with leading brands and cultivating mutually beneficial business value in the market at pace.
  • Experience leading partner conversations and building relationships with key day-to-day contacts.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A sense of pride in maintaining consistent high levels of performance and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter approach with a strong financial acumen and bias for action, sense of curiosity, and ability to build trust and alignment.
  • Strong ability to work in a collaborative, supportive way in cross-functional teams and across the organization while being able to adapt in ambiguous, agile, and rapidly changing environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experienced in successfully approaching businesses in a credible and professional manner, with evidence of helping them to achieve their goals.
  • Regular interaction with key executives across the organization (Chief Strategy Officer, Business Line VPs).

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or graduate-level degree in a related field, CFA, CPA.
  • Experience in M&A, legal, corporate development, or consulting.
  • Strong communication, storytelling, and presentation skills.
  • Experience navigating a matrix cross-functional organization.
