Lead Civil Engineer Opportunity

Wood is seeking a highly experienced Lead Civil Engineer to join our Mining & Minerals business group in Saskatoon, SK. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering Civil Engineering services on major projects, working closely with our Engineering Manager and collaborating with our national and global mining teams.

About the Role
  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Civil Engineering with eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Saskatchewan
  • 15 years of earthwork, buried and surface run utilities experience
  • Tailings/slurry piping layout design experience is an asset
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Ability to work in both design office and operating plant environments
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and design personnel
  • Experience in storm water management, stormwater runoff calculations, sizing of ditches, culverts and ponds
  • Good understanding of various coordinate systems and survey controls
  • Experience in interpreting and applying geotechnical design recommendations on civil designs
  • Experience in interpreting geotechnical & hydrology reports
  • Engineering experience in private fire protection systems
  • Excellent organizational, technical, and computer skills
  • Must be Fluent in English, both spoken and written
  • Knowledge of general civil designs and an understanding of industry codes, standards and construction methods
  • Experience with Civil 3D software would be an asset
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required.
