Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil/Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Barr Engineering Co. as a Senior Civil/Geotechnical Engineer – Senior Level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage client relationships and lead projects through the entire lifecycle.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to the project team during the entire project.
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams and projects, including proposal development and client contract negotiations.
  • Coach and mentor technical staff to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to drive growth and revenue.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, geotechnical, or mining engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience performing project engineering and design and business development.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) certification in Saskatchewan or ability to obtain certification within one year.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work in a project team environment that encourages self-initiative.
  • Demonstrated project organization and management skills.
  • Demonstrated business development knowledge, skills, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Work experience in western Canada.
  • 15+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Advanced degree in civil, geotechnical, or mining engineering or a closely related degree.
  • Experience working in consulting engineering.
  • Experience operating/managing for a consulting engineering company.
  • Demonstrated strong relationships with clients and the ability to develop or foster ongoing relationships and maintain a high level of client service.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement business development strategies.
What We Offer

A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position, allowing for a balance of work from home and in-office. This position is based out of Barr's Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, office.
