Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for specimen collection and processing, data entry, and referral specimens.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and process specimens for laboratory testing
  • Enter data into laboratory computer systems
  • Referral specimens to external laboratories as required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Laboratory Assistant Certification
  • MLPAO/OSMT certification
  • 2-5 years recent experience in phlebotomy
  • 2-5 years recent experience in a clinical laboratory setting
  • Knowledge of laboratory computer systems
  • Medical Terminology Certificate
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with the public
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record

Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment. The position requires the ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
