Job Summary
At Paper Excellence, we are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing guidance with daily activities while focusing on the development and implementation of strategic long-term goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote a safety culture throughout the maintenance team, ensuring compliance with all safety programs.
- Organize, direct, and oversee the ongoing operations of the Maintenance Department, productivity, policies/procedures, standards in all maintenance department areas.
- Provide support to the maintenance team, including Superintendents and Supervisors, through mentoring and coaching.
- Work closely with other departmental managers to ensure their maintenance needs are met and any issues are addressed in a timely manner.
- Focused on Preventive & Predictive Maintenance ensuring the long-term efficiency and reliability.
- Manage the Maintenance budget for the mill, establishing priorities and resource delegation.
- Coordinate work with outside inspections, providing project management, ensuring safety of personnel, and performing other duties as required.
- Work closely with HR on all recruitment activities for the Maintenance department, participating in interviews, candidate site tours, and hiring decisions.
Qualifications
- University degree in Engineering plus five (5) years related experience in mill engineering, planning or maintenance departments; or, High school graduation plus trades qualifications in any one or more of the trades being supervised, with five (5) years' experience as a tradesperson in the pulp industry.
- Five (5) years' supervisory experience with a proven ability to provide leadership and direction.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- A high level of understanding for all trades within the department and understanding of mill operating maintenance procedures.
Compensation & Benefits
- $120,000- $150,000 per annum (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
