About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team at Ortec Group in Hamilton, Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regular field visits to business units and various work sites (70% of working time in the field).
  • Participate in and ensure the application of current OHS regulations, procedures, and work instructions on work sites and business units.
  • Assist staff in identifying existing or potential risks and help them implement preventive or corrective measures/actions and OHS indicators.
  • Participate in investigations and detailed analyses of events, inspections, and audits.

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant discipline (OHS, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, etc.) and at least 3 years' experience in prevention and field intervention in a unionized industrial environment.
  • Sound knowledge of current health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Dynamic, autonomous, persevering, with a keen sense of organization and a team spirit.
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Valid driver's license and availability to travel regularly on site.
