Accident Benefits Claims Specialist

At Aviva, we're committed to delivering exceptional service to our customers. As a Healthcare Services Advisor, you'll play a critical role in ensuring timely and equitable resolution of sophisticated Accident Benefit claims.

We're looking for a customer-focused individual with a strong understanding of insurance contracts and policy coverages. If you have a passion for delivering excellent customer service and a knack for resolving complex claims, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret insurance contracts and resolve policy coverages in accordance with corporate guidelines
  • Handle Accident Benefits claims according to individual authority, knowledge, and expertise
  • Acquire investigative reports, independent medical examinations, and statements from insureds and witnesses as required
  • Educate customers and providers on new auto reform changes
  • Ensure all aspects of the claim process are handled optimally and within company guidelines
  • Assist in resolving claims issues related to interpretations and settlement negotiations
  • Ensure service levels and quality standards are met by approved specialists
  • Educate insureds about Premiere Healthcare network
  • Attend and participate in training and file clinic sessions

Requirements:

  • College Diploma or Associate Degree in a related field
  • 2+ years of Accident Benefits insurance claims handling experience
  • Familiarity with other Auto legislation, including Statutory Accident Benefits and Section B
  • Bilingualism is an asset
  • Large Loss experience is preferred
  • Post-secondary Education in a related field
  • CIP or working towards CIP for licensing
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to learn and adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Good organization and computer skills
