Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team as a Nurse Care Professional - QHSE Specialist. About the Role

The Nurse Care Professional - QHSE Specialist will be responsible for providing nursing care to acute medical patients with a focus on GI and palliative care. This role will involve working collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Providing nursing care to acute medical patients: The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and evaluating patient outcomes.
  • Collaborating with the healthcare team: The Nurse Care Professional - QHSE Specialist will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. This will involve communicating effectively, sharing knowledge and expertise, and contributing to the development of care plans.
  • Quality and safety: The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of patient care are delivered in a safe and efficient manner. This will involve identifying potential risks, implementing quality improvement initiatives, and participating in quality assurance activities.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates will need to possess:

  • A current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Recent acute medical experience
  • Advanced RPN and assessment skills, including aseptic technique, N/G insertion, suctioning, and airway maintenance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
