Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Langley Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our Respiratory Services department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our respiratory therapy program.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic assessments, interventions, and follow-ups related to respiratory therapy, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and support, mechanical ventilatory support, and airway management.
- Provide patient education and support, including participating in established education programs and developing patient materials.
- Conduct outpatient procedures, such as bronchoscopies, pediatric exercise challenges, and arterial blood gas analysis.
- Requisition supplies and minor equipment for departmental operations within approved budget and maintain area supply inventory.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, including development, implementation, and evaluation of written procedures and standards.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation, including reports, records, and workload statistics.
- Monitor and perform required maintenance, cleaning, calibration, evaluation, and quality control of respiratory and related equipment.
- Contribute to departmental operating and capital budgets and monitor departmental operations as required.
- Participate in meetings and departmental committees and contribute to problem identification and resolution.
- Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care credentialing exam.
- Two years' recent experience in respiratory therapy.
- Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT).
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Level C and current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
