Respiratory Therapist

Fraser Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Langley Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our respiratory therapy services.
Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic assessments, interventions, and follow-ups related to respiratory therapy, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and mechanical ventilatory support.
- Provide patient and family education, including participating in established education programs.
- Perform outpatient procedures, such as bronchoscopies, pediatric exercise challenges, and arterial blood gas analysis.
- Requisition supplies and equipment for departmental operations within approved budget.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, including the development and implementation of written procedures and standards.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation, including reports, records, and workload statistics.
- Monitor and perform required maintenance, cleaning, calibration, evaluation, and quality control of respiratory and related equipment.
- Contribute to departmental operating and capital budgets and monitor departmental operations.
- Participate in meetings and departmental committees and contribute to problem identification and resolution.
- Participate in Respiratory Therapy student education as required.
Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care credentialing exam are required. Two years' recent experience in respiratory therapy is also required. Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT) is necessary. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Level C and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification are also required.
