Sunterra Market is seeking a skilled Deli Clerk to join our team. As a member of our deli department, your role will include setting and maintaining attractive fresh displays, preparing and packaging salads and other ingredients, and wrapping customer orders. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all objectives and goals of the department and store are met or exceeded. This includes preparing food order summaries for the chef, establishing methods to meet completion schedules, and maintaining records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage. Additionally, you will ensure that food products and customer service meet Sunterra quality standards, control and maintain records of inventory, and monitor product cost. You will also resolve customer complaints and ensure health and safety regulations are followed. The ideal candidate will have effective communication skills, an understanding of ordering and kitchen budgeting, excellent time management skills, and managerial or supervisory skills. Food Safety Mini Course certification is required. The physical demands of this role include constant standing and walking, constant knife work and slicer use, frequent stooping or occasional kneeling, and occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 40lbs. Required experience includes customer service for at least one year.
