Role Overview:
The Project Engineer, reporting directly to the Plant Manager, engages in a hands-on engineering capacity, collaborating with various departments such as maintenance, production, quality assurance, supply chain, technical operations, and R&D. This role is pivotal in identifying and executing process enhancements and capital projects within operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
- Collaborate with stakeholders and process owners to pinpoint, develop, and oversee improvement projects with well-defined scopes and milestones.
- Negotiate with and manage contractors to ensure adherence to timelines and budget constraints.
- Prepare comprehensive capital project request reports for engineering initiatives.
- Monitor project progress from inception to completion, providing regular updates and reports.
- Act as Project Manager for process improvement initiatives, ensuring technical support is engaged as necessary.
- Oversee project implementation, ensuring compliance with design criteria, safety standards, budgets, and timelines.
- Establish protocols for formal project governance, including regular meetings and status updates.
- Process Management:
- Oversee improvement processes for both operational and capital projects.
- Conduct process and data analysis to enhance technical solutions.
- Contribute to technological advancements within operations based on industry insights.
- Review and suggest modifications to SOPs, leveraging expert knowledge of equipment capabilities.
- Engage with internal stakeholders during the development and execution of process improvement and capital projects.
- Ensure adherence to Bimeda's operational practices, including procedures, approvals, documentation, and health and safety standards.
- Guarantee that all project activities are meticulously planned, assigned, communicated, documented, and executed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory programs and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
- Project management certification is advantageous.
- Experience in managing electro-mechanical contractors.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is beneficial.
- Proven track record in project management and process enhancement.
- Able to juggle multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Strong negotiation and influencing capabilities.
- Ability to lead effectively within a team setting.
- Skilled in devising practical, innovative solutions for diverse technical challenges.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in a multidisciplinary project team environment.
