Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator - Asphalt Finishing Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at Border Paving Ltd. as an Asphalt Finishing Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment such as graders and pavers to ensure high-quality asphalt finishes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment such as graders and pavers to achieve smooth and even asphalt finishes
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Understand and follow material safety data sheets (MSDS) to ensure a safe working environment
  • Complete onboard and other logs to track equipment performance and maintenance
  • Secure special attachments to equipment as required
  • Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment to stay in touch with team members
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment to minimize downtime

Requirements:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in heavy equipment operation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in various weather conditions
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
