Job Title: Heavy Construction Equipment Operator

Border Paving Ltd. is seeking a skilled Heavy Construction Equipment Operator to join their team in Stony Plain, AB.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Heavy Construction Equipment Operator to operate various heavy equipment, including asphalt pavers, graders, and screeds. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment, as well as maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate heavy construction equipment, including asphalt pavers, graders, and screeds
  • Clean and lubricate equipment, and refill tanks as needed
  • Utilize material safety data sheets (MSDS) to ensure safe handling of materials
  • Complete onboard and other logs to track equipment usage and maintenance
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safe operation
  • Participate in the preparation of accident reports
  • Secure special attachments to equipment as needed
  • Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment to stay in touch with team members
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment to minimize downtime
  • Monitor safety conditions on the job site to ensure a safe working environment
Requirements:
  • 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent training
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Language: English
