Job Title: Executive Housekeeper

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Housekeeper to join our team at Best Western Cranbrook Hotel.

Job Summary:

The Executive Housekeeper will be responsible for overseeing the housekeeping department, ensuring that all guest rooms and public areas are clean and well-maintained. This is a key role that requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate activities of housekeeping supervisors and crews
  • Coordinate inspection of assigned areas to ensure high standards of cleanliness and maintenance
  • Supervise staff to ensure they are meeting expectations and providing excellent service to guests
  • Coordinate contract services, such as laundry and dry cleaning, to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations
  • Ensure that safety standards and departmental policies are met, and that all staff are aware of and adhere to these policies
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including budgets and payrolls
  • Prepare and present reports to management on housekeeping operations and performance
  • Supervise maintenance and repair services to ensure that all equipment and facilities are in good working order
  • Conduct performance evaluations and appraisals to ensure that staff are meeting expectations and receiving the support they need to succeed
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, equipment, and uniforms to ensure that the housekeeping department has everything it needs to operate effectively
  • Supervise in-house laundry services to ensure that all laundry is processed efficiently and effectively
  • Coordinate dry cleaning and valet services to ensure that guests have access to these services when they need them
  • Ensure that local health and sanitation regulations are carried out, and that all staff are aware of and adhere to these regulations
  • Conduct infection control audits to ensure that the hotel is meeting high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Hire and dismiss staff as needed, ensuring that all hiring and firing processes are fair and transparent
  • Respond to guest complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a housekeeping or hospitality role
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and maintenance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
