Lead Line Cook

We are seeking an experienced Lead Line Cook to join our culinary team at Langdon Hall Relais & Chateaux.
About the RoleThis is a key position in our kitchen, responsible for supervising cooking staff and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in cooking and leadership, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Responsibilities- Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to cooking staff.
- Supervise activities of specialist chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers.
- Create new recipes.
- Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
- Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets.
- Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff.
- Prepare and cook food on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies.
- Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
- 1-2 years of experience as a chef de partie or similar role.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
- Physically demanding, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling.
- Estimated salary range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year.
