At Amazon, we are seeking an experienced Applied Scientist to join our Alexa Customer Journeys team. As a key member of this team, you will play a critical role in driving the development and implementation of state-of-the-art machine learning systems for personalizing large-scale conversational assistant systems.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in machine learning and experience in handling Amazon-scale use cases with significant impact on our customers' experiences. Key responsibilities include using deep learning, ML, and NLP techniques to create scalable solutions for creation and development of language model-centric solutions, innovating new methods for contextual knowledge extraction and information retrieval, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex problems.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about inventing new methods and approaches to personalize conversational systems, has excellent communication skills, and can effectively communicate results and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences. The ideal candidate will have a PhD or Master's degree in a related field, such as CS, CE, ML, or related experience, and 3+ years of building models for business applications. Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related languages is also required.
