Job Summary
The Alexa Customer Journeys team is seeking a highly skilled Language Data Scientist with expertise in Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and Large Language Models. As a critical member of the team, you will drive the design of innovative Alexa features, generate high-quality data, and run experiments to evaluate performance.

About the Role
You will collaborate with engineers, scientists, and program managers to ensure the best Alexa experience for millions of customers. Key responsibilities include analyzing and automating processes for collecting and annotating LLM inputs and outputs, applying Generative AI techniques to analyze data quality, and designing principled strategies for data optimization.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with scientists and software engineers to design APIs and evaluate LLM performance
- Produce and manipulate language data, analyze, and provide efficient solutions
- Design and lead data collection efforts, define scope and target, provide guidelines, and train teams
- Engineer prompts to guide generative AI to produce desired outputs in context
- Automate operations and perform data analysis using Python or other scripting languages
- Advocate strict adherence to annotation guidelines
- Test and deploy changes to Alexa's language understanding codebase
- Identify and solve production issues impacting the Alexa customer experience
- Collaborate with linguists, scientists, and designers to create optimal solutions elevating the customer experience

Requirements
- 2+ years of data scientist experience
- Experience with machine learning/statistical modeling, data analysis tools, and techniques
- Bachelor's degree, or Master's degree
- Experience with Python, Perl, or another scripting language
- Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company

The base salary for this position ranges from $109,100/year up to $182,200/year. Total compensation may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
