Job Title: Director of Care (RN) - Long Term Care

Location: Burlington, ON

Job Overview:

As a passionate leader, the Director of Care is responsible for guiding and supporting a team of healthcare professionals who provide exceptional care for residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and experience in leading a team in a long-term care setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive nursing care program that meets the needs of residents.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of nursing staff, ensuring that high-quality care is provided to residents.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to hire, train, and schedule nursing personnel.
  • Ensure that all nursing staff are competent and qualified to provide care to residents.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with residents and their families to ensure a high level of satisfaction.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to the Executive Director and Senior Management.
  • Ensure that all medications are administered safely and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Director of Care in a long-term care facility.
  • Experience in geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care nursing is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the nursing process and ability to apply it in a long-term care setting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license.
