About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Greenhouse Labourer to join our team at Olds Oasis Organic Inc. as a Cultivation and Harvesting Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily care and maintenance of our greenhouse crops, ensuring optimal growth and yield.

Key Responsibilities
  • Crop Management: Monitor and maintain the health and growth of our greenhouse crops, including horticultural crops, seedlings, and plants.
  • Harvesting and Preparation: Harvest crops at the optimal time, divide them into marketable and non-marketable lots, and prepare them for distribution.
  • Soil and Fertilizer Management: Mix and prepare soils, apply fertilizers, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Plant Care and Maintenance: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and gardens, and assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants.
  • Reporting and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of daily progress, report signs of insect or disease damage, and assist in grafting activities.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This is a physically demanding role that requires standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, and kneeling. You will work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, but you will have the opportunity to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but you must be willing to learn and train.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication, but we welcome applicants who are fluent in other languages.
  • Work Schedule: 30-40 hours per week, with flexibility to work overtime as needed.
