Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Catheterization Lab team at Sault Area Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver patient care
  • Utilize the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
  • Provide health education to patients and families
  • Assist cardiologists with invasive cardiac procedures, including angiography and pacemaker insertions
  • Monitor patients post-procedure, including removal of femoral sheaths
  • Work in a team environment, wearing lead apron/vest and thyroid collar as required
Qualifications
  • Certificate of competency in Ontario
  • ACLS certification, current within last two years
  • Current certification in venipuncture (I.V. certification)
  • ECG Interpretation
Experience
  • 2 years critical care experience and/or cardiac cath lab experience
  • 2 years current hemodynamic monitoring experience
  • Experience with titration of cardiac medications, inotropes, and invasive cardiac monitoring
Skills
  • Demonstrated clinical competency in patient management and care
  • Knowledgeable in the utilization and care of mechanical equipment
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability
  • Demonstrated behavior consistent with the hospital's mission statement and values
  • Ability to maintain successful working relationships and interact with people in a professional manner
