Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Catheterization Lab team at Sault Area Hospital. As a Cardiac Catheterization Lab Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver patient-centered care.
- Utilize the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Provide health education to patients and families.
- Assist cardiologists with invasive cardiac procedures, including angiography, right heart catheterizations, and pacemaker insertions.
- Monitor patients post-procedure, including removal of femoral sheaths.
- Work in a fast-paced environment, wearing lead apron/vest and thyroid collar as required.
Requirements:
- Certificate of competency in Ontario.
- Current ACLS certification, within the last two years.
- Current certification in venipuncture (I.V. certification).
- ECG Interpretation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of critical care experience and/or cardiac cath lab experience.
- 2 years of current hemodynamic monitoring experience.
- Experience with titration of cardiac medications, inotropes, and invasive cardiac monitoring.
- Demonstrated experience scrubbing for angiograms and on-call experience in a Cath Lab environment.
Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated clinical competency in patient management and care.
- Knowledgeable in the utilization and care of mechanical equipment required for patient care.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
