About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Compensation Specialist to join our team at PCL Constructors Inc. in Edmonton, Alberta. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for leading the development, execution, and monitoring of total rewards programs and initiatives that align with our company's strategies and priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of project management processes and support company-wide Total Rewards programs and initiatives.
  • Conduct research, analysis, and program design, including vendor relations in all areas of Total Rewards.
  • Develop, monitor, update, and communicate project schedules to track tasks, deadlines, and milestones.
  • Provide education, analysis, and support related to Total Rewards as needed, and produce monthly/quarterly/annual reports for various stakeholders.
  • Administer Total Rewards documentation, ensuring it is relevant, current, and easily accessible.
  • Support district and regional HR teams with position description documentation and job evaluations for new and updated positions.
  • Collaborate with other corporate departments and the HR Leadership team to ensure alignment with priorities and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Postsecondary diploma or degree in human resources or a related discipline.
  • 7 years of progressive experience preferred.
  • Working towards relevant designation preferred.
  • Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Suite and other applicable systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are a must.
  • Demonstrated understanding of principles, practices, procedures related to Total Rewards and applicable legislation.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Strong organizational skills, high level of detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines.
  • Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to conduct program assessment, market data analysis, job evaluation, and program-related trend statistical analysis.
  • Seen as a trusted advisor with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
