Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Health Records Clerk to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a Health Records Clerk, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain patient records, including creating, updating, and retrieving records
  • Perform data entry and typing tasks with high accuracy and speed (45 wpm)
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure accurate and timely information exchange
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care and record management
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and record management processes
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a recognized medical terminology course
  • 6 months of recent experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to keyboard at 45 wpm
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
