Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Operations and Strategic Initiatives to join our team at the Government of Alberta. This is a key provincial leadership role that requires a strong understanding of operations and strategic planning, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement short-term and long-term sourcing plans for major procurement initiatives
  • Participate in contracting initiatives and provide operational leadership in the development, planning, and execution of plans
  • Develop, review, integrate, implement, and evaluate provincial initiatives that impact the Division and all Branches
  • Provide leadership to multiple overlapping engagement initiatives for strategic contracting, projects with significant clinical complexity, and wide stakeholder groups
Requirements
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year of education
  • Experience in health care procurement and supply chain
  • Experience leading and implementing major projects, including facilitating large group meetings with diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge of clinical products, market strategies, and understanding of local, national, and global supply chain issues and challenges
  • Experience leading a team/supervising
