Job Title: Public Health Nurse

Join the Government of Nunavut as a Public Health Nurse and contribute to the well-being of our communities.

About the Role

The Public Health Nurse provides a full continuum of public health services to individuals in the community, protecting, restoring, and promoting health and reducing the incidence of disease and disability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement health promotion, health protection, and disease/injury prevention activities
  • Work with others in the community to address public health issues
  • Empower Nunavummiut to live healthy lives
Requirements

A Bachelor Degree of Nursing or Diploma in Nursing with a Certificate in Public Health, plus a minimum of two years public health nursing experience or related, is required. Current CPR Level Certification and annual registration with a professional government body in good standing are also necessary.

Assets

Experience working in remote and isolated communities, Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) Skills Online courses, Canadian Nurse Association (CAN) and Canadian Health Nurses of Canada (CHNC) certification are considered assets.
