The Barrel is seeking a skilled and experienced culinary professional to join our team as a Second Cook. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards of quality and presentation. Your attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. In addition to your culinary skills, you will also be responsible for inspecting kitchens and food service areas, training staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment. **Key Responsibilities:**

* Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
* Inspect kitchens and food service areas
* Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
* Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
* Clean kitchen and work areas

**Requirements:**

* Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
* 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Strong attention to detail
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills

**Work Environment:**

* Restaurant
* 35 hours per week
* English
