Job Summary

The Shipping Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods within the Paper Excellence warehouse and shipping operations. This role will require strong leadership and communication skills to manage a team of employees and coordinate with other departments to meet company goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety procedures to minimize the risk of injury and damage to property.
  • Manage the scheduling of shipping activities and ensure that all necessary documentation is completed in a timely manner.
  • Supervise the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring that all products are handled and stored correctly.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipping activity, and employee training.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met, including those related to safety, environmental, and hazardous materials.
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve productivity and efficiency within the shipping department.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and effectively.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse or shipping environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of employees.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze situations and develop effective solutions.
