About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our team at PHSA. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional health services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care services, including assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans, in a trauma-informed and culturally safe manner.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that address the physical, emotional, and social needs of patients.
  • Conduct health education and promotion activities to empower patients and their families to take an active role in their health and well-being.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote best practices in patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes.

Requirements

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Two years' recent experience providing trauma-informed acute or community health nursing care services to patients with complex physical, psychiatric, and/or substance use disorders.
  • Successful completion of Occupational First Aid II (OFA II) or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of community health nursing theory, including mental health and addictions, communicable diseases, and primary care.
  • Knowledge of the BC Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation and policies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
