We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our team at BC Cancer. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our cancer services.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and Treat Patients: Diagnose and treat previously undiagnosed clients for undifferentiated diseases, illnesses, and conditions within the Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice.
- Develop and Implement Treatment Plans: Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, including ordering appropriate screening diagnostic investigations and interpreting reports.
- Provide Patient Education and Support: Communicate with clients and families about health findings, diagnoses, and prognoses, and provide support and counseling to clients in their personal responses to diseases, disorders, and conditions.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: Collaborate and/or consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals as appropriate to assess and diagnose client status, and accept referrals from or make referrals to physicians and other health professionals.
- Prescribe Medications: Prescribe drugs within the statutory and regulatory standards, limits, and conditions for Nurse Practitioners and within applicable employer policies and procedures.
- Current Registration: Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Eligibility for OSCE: Must be eligible to complete the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) through the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Minimum Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of recent, relevant clinical nursing experience.
- Competitive Salary: A competitive salary range of $145,739 - $160,313/year.
- Professional Development Opportunities: Eligibility for yearly professional development allowance and access to more than 2,000 in-house training programs.
- Nurse Practitioner Mentorship Program: A Nurse Practitioner Mentorship Program for experienced and new graduate NPs with onboarding training needs assessment in a specialty setting.
- Reimbursement for OSCE: Reimbursement for the cost of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).
