Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Physiotherapy department at Northern Health Authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and intervening in patients' occupational performance according to established Occupational Therapy practices and national provincial college standards.

About the Role

This is a full-time opportunity that rotates between acute physical/medical inpatient wards and outpatient services. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work independently and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote functional independence and enable clients to achieve optimal health outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Perform assessments and interventions related to patients' occupational performance.
  • Work as a team member under the general supervision of the Lead Occupational Therapist.
  • Rotates between acute physical/medical inpatient wards and outpatient services.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:
  • A graduate degree from an approved program in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia.
  • Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and teaching skills, as well as the ability to integrate best practice and current research evidence to support professional practice decisions and actions. They will also demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage time and resources effectively.

Estimated Salary: $42.56-$52.95 per hour.
