Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Host/Hostess to join our team at Home and Away Calgary. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service and a seamless dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and train a team of hosts/hostesses to ensure excellent customer service and a high level of professionalism.
    • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve team performance and productivity.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service to guests, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the dining room.
    • Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Operations and Administration
    • Oversee the daily operations of the dining room, including scheduling, inventory management, and supply ordering.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and provincial/territorial liquor legislation.
  • Staff Management
    • Hire, train, and develop a team of hosts/hostesses to meet the needs of the restaurant.
    • Set staff work schedules and monitor performance to ensure high standards are met.
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with chefs, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
    • Collaborate with the management team to achieve business objectives and improve overall performance.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • Experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • ProServe program certification.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
    • Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards.
