Youth Substance Use Outreach Clinician Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a Youth Substance Use Outreach Clinician to join our Specialized Services/Interprofessional Teams department at Northern Health.
As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide community engagement and outreach services to at-risk youth, assessment, early interventions, and referrals to youth who are at risk or identified as a risk to substance use and/or mental health problems.
You will work in settings where contact with youth at risk can best be established, including street-based, school, and community settings, providing addiction services that focus on maintaining clients in the community and enhancing youth treatment and rehabilitation plans through regular and supportive contact.
As a member of our health care team, you will provide direct community-based early intervention, assessment, and treatment planning and referral for youth experiencing problems related to their substance use and/or mental illness.
You will also provide support, guidance, and education to substance users and/or mental health clients and their families, as identified through assessment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide community engagement and outreach services to at-risk youth
- Assess, intervene, and refer youth who are at risk or identified as a risk to substance use and/or mental health problems
- Work in settings where contact with youth at risk can best be established, including street-based, school, and community settings
- Provide addiction services that focus on maintaining clients in the community and enhancing youth treatment and rehabilitation plans
- Provide direct community-based early intervention, assessment, and treatment planning and referral for youth experiencing problems related to their substance use and/or mental illness
- Support, guide, and educate substance users and/or mental health clients and their families as identified through assessment
