Event Planner Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Event Planner to join our team at STAR EDMONTON BANQUET AND CONFERENCE CENTRE LTD.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote our conference and meeting services or special events to clients and stakeholders
  • Select and inspect potential event sites to ensure they meet our high standards
  • Develop and implement marketing and communication plans to promote our events
  • Design and execute media strategies and public relations activities to enhance our events
  • Review and negotiate bids from vendors to ensure the best value for our clients
  • Assist in preparing budgets and managing event finances
  • Coordinate logistics for events, including site selection, transportation, and accommodation arrangements
  • Plan and execute social programs, food and beverage services, and other event details
  • Set up and monitor audio-visual equipment for events
  • Plan and arrange for trade shows and exhibits
  • Develop and implement business plans to drive event sales and revenue
Requirements:
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in event planning or a related field
  • Permanent position with 30 to 35 hours per week
  • Fluency in English
