Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at New Creation Christian Child Care Center. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation: Develop and implement child-care programs that align with the center's mission and values, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow and thrive.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Supervise and train staff, trainees, or volunteers to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality care and education to children.
  • Activity Planning and Execution: Plan and lead activities that promote children's cognitive, emotional, and social development, including storytelling, teaching songs, and taking children on outings.
  • Child Development and Support: Encourage children to express their creativity through various media, such as art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity. Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, or supervisors to discuss children's progress and any concerns. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers.
  • Environment and Safety: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children, including ensuring compliance with licensing regulations.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors, and participate in staff meetings to discuss children's progress and problems.
Requirements
  • Education: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • Certifications and Licenses: First Aid Certificate, Criminal record check, Medical exam
  • Personal Qualities: Efficient interpersonal skills, Team player
  • Experience: Experience an asset
Working Conditions
  • Work Setting: Child care centre
  • Hours of Work: 30 to 40 hours per week
  • Language of Work: English
