About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Specialist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a key member of our Communications, Engagement and Marketing team, you will play a critical role in advancing relationships with our staff, physicians, and patients.

The successful candidate will collaborate with various groups throughout the organization to provide expert communications and engagement advice. This will involve planning, implementing, and evaluating communication and engagement activities that build and strengthen our response to issues, challenges, and opportunities.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to join our team and contribute to the success of Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A strong educational background in marketing, advertising, digital communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in the communications, marketing, or engagement sector.
  • Exceptional skills in preparing web, social media, and online engagement strategies, with a proven track record of developing effective content and engaging audiences.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to think strategically and system-focused.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills, with the ability to support internal and external collaborative relationships.
  • Experience managing public relations issues and reputation management.
  • Computer proficiency and the ability to work within social media platforms.
  • Ability to manage projects, delivering on budget and on time.
Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent, temporary, and casual relief position. Qualified applicants will be placed into a pool and reviewed as positions become available.

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of $40.22 per hour.
