We are seeking a skilled Community Housing Specialist to join our team at The Government of Nova Scotia. As a key member of our department, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of policies and programs aimed at stabilizing, transforming, and growing the community housing sector.
Key ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities of this role include:
- Coordinating and advancing capacity-enhancing strategies and solutions to support sector renewal and modernization.
- Implementing progressive housing programs and initiatives, including financial assistance programs for housing co-operatives and non-profit societies.
- Delivering services within a prescribed budget, making recommendations to resolve issues and improve services.
- Representing the Department on select multi-stakeholder working groups and participating in regular community housing sector initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in a related discipline, plus a minimum of six (6) years of related experience in policy/program planning and development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with project management tools.
